Getting funded without a challenge

Yes — four routes skip the evaluation entirely. Only one of them is free and open to anyone today. Here is each option, what it really costs, and what changes once you are funded.

Last updated: 23 July 2026

Short answer: yes. Four routes skip the evaluation — winning a free contest, a giveaway, instant funding (paid) and private backing. Only the first is free, repeatable and available to you right now.

Route 1 — Win a contest whose prize is a funded account

Instead of paying to prove yourself in an evaluation, you prove yourself against other traders in a competition — and the funded account is the prize. No fee, no deposit, and the "evaluation" is a real competitive week rather than a purchased attempt.

TradeWars runs one weekly. Free entry on an MT5 demo account, Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59 UTC. The top 3 by weekly return each win a €5,000 funded account and the monthly best wins €25,000. Winners keep 75% of real payouts; the platform's 25% share is its entire business model.

  • Cost: €0 — no card, no deposit.
  • Requirement: finish top 3 for the week, in profit.
  • Repeatable: yes — a new contest every Monday, so one bad week costs you nothing.

Route 2 — Prop firm giveaways

Firms periodically give away evaluations or funded accounts, usually on X or Discord. Free and legitimate, but sporadic and frequently decided by random draw. Enter when you see one; do not depend on it.

Route 3 — Instant funding (paid, no evaluation)

Several firms sell funded accounts directly: you pay upfront, skip the challenge, and start trading their capital immediately. The evaluation disappears — the cost does not.

What to check before buying one:

  • Drawdown limits — usually tighter than evaluated accounts, because the firm skipped its filter.
  • Profit split — often lower initially, scaling up with performance.
  • Payout terms — minimum days, consistency rules, first-payout thresholds. Read these before the marketing page.
  • The firm's payout track record — search their name plus "payout denied" before paying anything.

It can be a rational choice for a trader with proven data who simply dislikes evaluation mechanics. It is a poor choice as a shortcut around not being ready.

Route 4 — Private backing

An investor funds you directly against a profit share. No evaluation, no firm, no rulebook beyond what you agree between you. The barrier is trust: you need a track record someone can actually verify, which in practice means auditable history rather than screenshots.

What changes once you are funded (and what does not)

Important expectation-setting: how you obtained the account does not change how it behaves. Whether you won it, were given it or bought it, the funded account follows the provider's standard rules — daily loss limits, maximum drawdown, consistency requirements and payout conditions all apply identically.

So the real question is never just "how do I get funded" — it is "can I trade within those rules once I am". That is exactly why a weekly contest is useful practice: it puts real stakes and a real deadline on your process before any money is involved.

Which route should you take?

  • No proven track record, no budget → free contests. Nothing to lose, and it builds the record you will need later.
  • Proven data, dislike evaluation rules → instant funding, after reading the payout terms carefully.
  • Proven data, want scale → private backing or a standard evaluation with a firm whose rules fit your drawdown profile.
  • Just want a shot → enter every free contest and giveaway you can find. The expected cost is zero.

The free route resets every Monday. TradeWars: free entry, demo only, top 3 win a €5,000 funded account, winners keep 75%. Join this week · FAQ · Contest rules
